10th Assembly: Asociation endorses Tajudeen Abass for Speaker

A group under the aegis of Young House of Representatives Candidates Association, has endorsed Tajudeen Abass, ahead of Speakership race in the 10th National Assembly.
Our correspondent reports that Abass was anointed by the National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress as it preferred candidate.
According to a press statement made available to our correspondent on Thursday by the association’s Public Relation Officer and African Democratic Congress 2023 House of Representatives candidate Zakari Zakari, its disclosed that it selected Abass after due consultation, following his far-reaching capacity to pilot the house.
Zakari’s statement added that Abass has got the required acumen to deliver leadership in the green chamber, “After series of consultation across the nation, the national body of young House of Representatives candidate from 18 different political parties both elected and others who lost election decided to release statement concerning who will take the mantle of 10th Assembly leadership to emerge as new Speaker on 10th June. On behalf of the said Association with concern of every members, we declare our interest to enable the general public to know our stand.
“In that regard, we are convinced beyond any reasonable doubt that Hon. Tajudeen member representing Zaria constituency has gathered the prerequisite experience, leadership skills and wherewithal to successfully lead the green chamber and ensure that we have a smooth working relationship with the executive arm of government at the national level,” the statement partly read.
The association noted that with Abass o the saddle, the lot young people would be refined, adding “Based on the aforementioned qualities we’re calling on our members-elect to support the aspiration of Honourable Tajudeen to emerge as the next 10th speaker.If Hon. Tajudden clinch the seat of speakership position, the possibility of smooth, reliable and positive leadership will await the next green chamber.”
