Code of Conduct sensitises Gombe Assembly to valid documentation
Ahead of the inauguration of the Gombe state seventh Assembly, the newly elected members have been enlightened on how to fill the Code of Conduct form which is meant for the declaration of their assets.
The sensitisation took place at conference hall of the assembly complex.
Speaking, Code of Conduct Bureau Deputy Chief Supervisor, Mike Edoga, said it was part of their constitutional mandate, stressing that “the members must declare their assets by filling the forms and failure to comply will attract sanction.”
While adding that the outgoing 6th assembly members are required to fill the form at the end of the tenure, noting that the returning lawmakers would fill in both end of tenure and beginning of tenure.
“any member who fails to fill in the form will be allowed to take oath of office,” Edoga said.
In his speech, the speaker of the house Abubakar Luggerewo, lauded the Code of Conduct Bureau for their efforts in ensuring that the newly elected members are guided appropriately on assets declaration.
While congratulating the members-elect, Luggerewo urged them to maximise the opportunity given them to better the lives of their constituents.
One of the members-elect, Muhammad Kuri, who described their engagement with the officials of Code of Conduct Bureau as fruitful said his constituents would benefit more under his representation.
