Doctors Association warns Kaduna residents against suspected human rabies
The Kaduna State Resident Veterinary Doctors Association has warned residents to report traces of suspected human rabies.
This is sequel to a recent dog bite incident involving an Almajiri boy from Borno State.

According to a press statement signed by its Chairman Dr. Khalifa Aliyu, the victim was said to be seen biting humans, objects, papers, wood, and tongue thrusting, along the street, around A.M Yola filling station, Katsina Road Kaduna.
He said some good samaritans spotted him and took him to a Primary Health Care where he was later referred to Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital.
The statement partly, “The attention of the Kaduna State Ministry of Agriculture, Department of Veterinary and Livestock Service was called to a suspected case of Human Rabies in a teenage boy in Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital, Kaduna.
“The human victim is a 10-year-old Almajiri boy, name withheld from Borno State. At the time of our conversation with him, he appeared stable, but was crying of one-sided ear pain and scratching of the bite site due to itchiness and pains. History also has it that he still gets irritable, excited and aggressive. The victim also revealed that he played with a rodenticide and later ate his food without washing his hands prior to his presentation. All necessary measures are been put in place.”
