Gang arrested for goat theft in Gombe

18-year-old Hassan Adamu, 20-year-old Abdulaziz Abubakar and 25-year-old Abdullahi Shuaibu known as dealer have been arrested by Gombe State Police command.
Parading the suspects Public Relations Officer ASP Mahid Abubakar, explained that the gang specialised in goats theft, adding that they operated with tricycles.
According to Abubakar, they operated around Malam Inna and Wuro Kesa communities in Gombe State.
He said, “Men of the Gombe division while acting on intelligence report on a syndicate of thieves who specialises in using tricycles to steal goats from Malam Inna communities, Wuro Kesa communities and selling it.They were arrested at their various hideouts, the suspects confessed voluntarily to having carried out the act.”
He disclosed that the trio had confessed to the crime, stressing that goat and tricycle were part of exhibit obtained upon their arrest.
“Investigation is still ongoing and the case will soon be charged to court for prosecution.Exhibits recovered include one tricycle and one goat.”
Meanwhile, Abubakar also paraded another of alleged robbers Adamu Mohammed aged 21 years, Abdulmummini Saidu 20 years and Ibrahim Adamu aged 19 years for dispossessing four students of Gombe Science Technical College Kwami their valuables.
Abubakar disclosed that their arrest was sequel to a formal complaint received by the principal, that four of his students while on their way to school, suspects conspired among themselves and attacked the victims with cutlasses, sticks and robbed them of their items.
He said, “One Gionee phone F200 valued 14,000.00 with an airtel sim card, one Tecno Canon valued at 9,000.00, Vivo A51 valued at 17,000.00, one mp3 player and cash of 500.
“On receipt of the complaint police detectives from Bojude Division swung into action and they successfully arrested the suspects.”
Abubakar stated that the suspects confessed to have committed the crime, adding that the case would soon be charged to court upon conclusion of the investigation for possible prosecution.
“Exhibits recovered include wo sharp cutlasses, one stick,one mp3 player and two mobile phones,” Abubakar added.
