Gombe NYSC Coordinator visits Commander 301 Artillery Regiment, others
….commends them on cordial working relationship
The State Coordinator National Youth Service Corps Gombe, Mr Dawut Jidda, on Tuesday, paid separate visits to the Commander 301 Artillery Regiment General Support, Gombe State Command; Colonel A . O Ndah, Chief Judge of Gombe State; Halima Mohammed, and Regional Manager Jos Electricity Distribution Company; Sa’ad Abubakar, to cement existing cordial relationship with the Scheme.

The visit, according to Jidda, was to among other things appreciate the Command for deploying capable and well mannered personnel to assist the Scheme in running orientation programmes and other NYSC functions.
“The NYSC is a baby of the Military, established in 1973. It is pertinent we maintain cordial working relationship with the Military by appreciating their effort,” he said.


At the office of the Regional Manager, Jos Electricity Distribution PLC, Mallam Abubakar Saad, Mr Jidda, made a passionate appeal for steady and improved supply of electricity during orientation programmes.
“The orientation camp depends largely on generator to cater for the needs of Camp participants. I appeal to you to supply steady electricity to the Camp to ensure smooth running of our orientation programmes. The Orientation Camp is the first point of call for graduates deployed for the one year mandatory service. Basic amenities like electricity and water will create a lasting impression,” he said

At the office of the Chief Judge of Gombe State, Honourable Justice Halima Mohammed, the State Coordinator appreciated her for the continuous support of activities of the Scheme and in particular for the administration of the oath of allegiance on Corps members during orientation programmes.

In their separate responses, Colonel A.O Ndah, Honourable Justice Halima Mohammed and Mallam Saad Abubakar, commended the State Coordinator for deeming it necessary to pay courtesy call on them and pledged to continue the cordial relationship by making it better.
They maintained that their doors would be open at all times to assist the NYSC achieve it’s mandate. They maintained that, the importance of the NYSC Scheme cannot be over emphasised as it has touched a lot of lives and made positive impact in the nooks and crannies of the nation.
“I appreciate the NYSC programme and will do my best to ensure its sustenance. It has made positive impact in our communities and done away with prejudices and stereotypes. More should still be done in the area of Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development to equip our youth for self-reliance,” said Justice Halima Mohammed, Chief Judge of Gombe State.
” The NYSC has for the past fifty years promoted national unity and integration. We will continue to play our part to instill discipline in Corps members whenever the need arises,” said Colonel Ndah, Commander 301 Artillery Regiment General Support Gombe.
“Jos Electricity Distribution PLC will always play its corporate responsibility to the Scheme. You can count on our support at all times,” said Mallam Saad Abubakar Regional Manager JEDC.
