I’ll execute projects based on Community’s priority – Taraba gov

Taraba State Governor, Dr Kefas Agbu, on Saturday said, he will execute first set of projects across 16 local government areas of the state based each Community’s priority.
Agbu disclosed his decision know while interacting with journalists in Jalingo. The governor explained that the idea was to ensure that projects are executed where they are supposed to, and base on the Community’s determination.
He also disclosed that his government would within the first 100 days, declare state of emergency in basic education to transform the state education Sector.
“My first set of projects across 16 local governments of Taraba would be base on what is the people’s priority and determination. I will go round the Communities where votes came, ask what they want government to do for them.
“I will not just execute project, I will ask the people to tell me exactly what they want. I do not want a situation where project would be executed and the immediate community would not know the impact.
“What I would not negotiate is the transformation of education sector. I will declare state of emergency in the primary and post- Primary education to boost the learning strength of the younger citizens.
“My desire for quality representation and general good governance for Taraba is not negotiable. I will ensure a boost in infrastructural development to place Taraba among contending Nigerian states in terms of development.
“Youth development and empowerment is one of my basic priority. My government would be 80 per cent qualify youth who would represent the state in the development sectors of governance.
“For the interest of development of Taraba, I would choose qualify men that would fit in the ministry they may be posted and deliver quality service for the state,” Agbu disclosed.
The governor while pledging to look at projects Commission by his predecessor, Darius Ishaku, but were not completed, Agbu however disclosed that questions would be asked were necessary, and probe would be made accordingly to correct any wrong that was committed by the previous governmment.
