Mele Kyari not sacked as NNPCL GMD
The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited has denied claims that its Group Managing Director, Mele Kyari, has been sacked by President Bola Tinubu.
Debunking the claims on Kyari’s suspension, Garba Deen Muhammad, the Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPCL described the claim as untrue.
Muhammad said, “it is untrue, but handiwork of mischief makers.”
However, many handles belonging to top government functionaries, including Ministries Departments and Agencies have remained mute on the rumour.
PERISCOPE NIGERIA reports that on Friday, the President had announced the suspension of Central Bank of Nigeria’s Governor Dr Godwin Emefiele.
The media especially Twitter had since the early hours of Saturday, been trending on Mele Kyari’s alleged sack with many tweeps hailing the purported sack.
Investigation conducted by our correspondent reveals that there are plans to shop for his replacement, especially as the new administration intends to undertake fresh audit on the country’s daily fuel consumption and many others.
