Subsidy: M4GN DG lambasts NLC over strike threat
The Director-General Movement for Greater Nigeria,Okedara Kolawole, on Saturday lambasted the Nigeria Labour Congress over threat to embark on strike over removal of subsidy next week.
Our correspondent reports that President Bola Tinubu had announced the removal of subsidy during his inauguration speech.
Kolawole stated the displeasure of organisation in a press conference held in Abuja.
According to him, organised labour has lost its moral standing to embark on industrial action, following their involvement in partisan politics.
He said, “Distinguished Nigerians, are you aware that NLC is the owner of Labour party ? which means that they are now a political movement and not a civil society. The planned strike is part of the labour party protest to destroy the government of President Bola Tinubu of the APC whom their party has vehemently rejected as thier president.
“All well meaning Nigerians who are civil and apolitical that are not beneficiary nor part of the subsidy scheme and has not collected any bribe from the oil subsidy cabal should not join in any strike next week Wednesday. Nigeria Labour congress has been compromised and are working for the cabals that has done everything to stop Asiwaju Bola Tinubu from becoming President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
While calling for support for the President, Kolawole added, “All who want a free Nigeria should support the federal government lead by President Bola Tinubu. We are all ready to sacrifice to take our country back from the cabals.”
