The Sultanate Council has declared Wednesday 28th June as 2023 Eid- El-Kabir, adding that its equivalent to 10th Zulhijja.

 

According to a press statement signed by Sa’idu Muhammad Maccido, on behalf of Chairman, Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs, Sultanate Council, Sokoto, Monday 19th of June is the first day of Zulhijja 1444AH.

 

 

 

Maccido said partly in the statement obtained by our correspondent, “His Eminence, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar CFR, mni, the Sultan of Sokoto and President General – Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) has declared Monday 19th June, 2023, as the first day of Zulhijja 1444AH. Therefore Wednesday, 28th June, 2023, which will be equivalent to 10th Zulhijja will be marked as this year’s Eid- El-Kabir.”

 

The Sultan while urging the Muslim Ummah to continue to pray for peace, progress and development of the Country also wished all Muslims a Happy Eid-El-Kabir, “His Eminence, the Sultan felicitates with the Nigerian Muslim Ummah and wishes them Allah’s guidance and blessings.

 

“May Allah (SWT) accept our religious deeds, amen,” the statement added.
