2023 Women’s World Cup:Ary Borges’ hat-trick gives Brazil 4 – 0 win over Panama

Ary Borges turn up in style to score a hat-trick and an assist on her Women’s World Cup debut to help Brazil thrash debutants Panama 4-0 at the Hindmarsh stadium in Adelaide, Australia.
Moreover, Samba stars have only made the Women’s World Cup final once and are yet to lift the trophy, kick starts their Group F campagin with an emphatic win over Panama with a dominant display.
Ary Borges became the star of the show from the 19th minute when she headed home Debinha’s floated cross to set the tone for the party. She added her 2nd of the tournament six minute before half time to end the first half 2 – 0.
Despite the racing Louisville F.C winger being on a hat-trick, she turned a provider for Brazil’s third goal three minutes into the second half. She could have gone for goal herself following a typical samba moves and cross into the box, but she back-heeled instead for Bia Zaneratto to crash home behind her.

Yenith Bailey, the Panama goalkeeper had a fantastic game, as she tries to keep her team in the game with fine saves, but couldn’t prevent the 23-year-old from heading in her third at the 70th minute to make it 4-0 and to become the first Brazilian player to score a hat-trick in their first-ever World Cup match.
Although Los Canaleros came alive at the later moment of the game with threatening counter attacks to rise the tempo of the game, the Selecao kept their nerves calm and control the tempo of the game till the last minute.
