Asma’u Ignanus, Aishatu Maigari, 15 men make Gombe gov Commissioner-nominees
The Gombe State House of Assembly has received the names of commissioner-nominees sent by Governor Muhammadu Yahaya, for screening and confirmation.
The letter containing the names was read on the floor of the house during plenary on Friday.

The commissioner-nominees are 17, comprising 15 men and two women and about five commissioners in the first tenure of the present administration made it on the list.
The two women are the former commissioner of Education Aishatu Maigari and the former member who represented Shongom constituency in the state House of Assembly Asmau Mohammed Iganus.
While commending the governor for adhering to the provisions of the law, the house applauded him for selecting people of proven integrity with wealth of experience to support the administration.
Also, the governor was commended for ensuring that all the local government area of the state are represented.
The speaker of the house Abubakar Luggerewo, congratulated the commissioner-nominees for making it on the list.
While assuring of thorough screening, the deputy speaker of the house and the member representing Funakaye North Saddam Bello said “the house will begin screening immediately after their first induction course coming up early next month.”
In an interview with newsmen shortly after the plenary, the majority leader of the house Yerima Gaule said “the commissioner-nominees selected by the governor are people who have served the state in various capacities.”
The comprehensive list comprise professionals in health, law, military, academics and political associates with Abdulkadir Mohammed waziri, Adamu Inuwa Pantami, Barrister Zubairu Umar, Mijinyawa Ardo tilde, Mohammed Shetima gadam, Mohammed Gambo Magaji, Asma’u iganus, Mohammed Saidu Fawu, Aishatu Umar maigari.
Others are Salihu Baba Alkali, Dr Habu Dahiru, Alh Nasiru Aliyu, Barrnabas Malle, Mai jama’a kallamu, Lt. col Abdullahi Bello, Sanusi Ahmed maidala, and Dr Abdullahi Bappah Garkuwa.
