As part of its efforts to improve community development through entrepreneurship, Tangale Momentum for Empowerment which is a Non-governmental organisation has held a three-day training and empowerment programme in Billiri Local Government Area of Gombe State.

 

The business management training PERISCOPE NIGERIA reports was geared towards improving Tangale economy and community development through sustainable business practices.

 

The Founder of the empowerment programme and philanthropist Professor Mansfield Mela, a Professor of Psychiatric Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan, Canada said the essence of the Empowerment programme was a way of giving back to the community, through training and empowering youths and women in the zone, who would in turn train and empower others in Tangale nation.

 

Mela, who is canada-based told our correspondent that the pilot empowerment scheme was aimed at improving Tangale economy which would gulp over N55 million from proposals received from 14 participants during the three days training.

 

He appealed to other well-meaning individuals, corporate organisation to support the idea of improving Tangale economy.

The grand patron of the Tangale Momentum for Empowerment and District Head of Kalmai, Ahmadu Zubairu, appreciated the vision of Mela, in ameliorating and empowering youths and women in business.

 

He urged the beneficiaries to judiciously utilise the funds that would be presented to them in boosting their businesses as well as developing the communities.

 

The Programme’s Facilitator, Ambassador Ferdinand Feson Fada, while expressing his happiness said the nitty-gritty of the business management training has been well explained to the participants.

He said, “the essence of the training is to ensure that participants will make profits so as to change the social life of their immediate environment.”

He praised founder for the initiative of empowering the participants.

Also,  Billiri Local Government Chairperson, Mrs Margret Paulo, who was represented by the Treasurer, Augustine Kurungu, lauded the initiative of the Founder of the Empowerment programme for the vision in empowering youths and women.

She reiterated that the empowerment programme when properly harnessed by the beneficiaries would bring enormous benefits through revenue generation in developing the local government area.

 

Two of the participants, Lamela Abdulmasi Ibrahim, and Martha Martins, who attended the three days training appreciated the vision of the founder, even as they vowed to change the narratives in improving their businesses and in turn uplift the community.

    It’s indeed a great mind to have thought about his community and do what it means to make difference. God grant him more ability to do more, and as for the beneficiaries should hold on to the sacrifice and impact such gesture to there various community chain.
