Gandollar saga: Group urges Interpol, NIS, DSS to prevent Ganduje from escaping Nigeria
The Movement Against Corruption in Nigeria in Kano urged the International Criminal Police Organisation (Interpol) and relevant agencies to keep ex-governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, under watch, claiming that he is planning to flee the country to escape prosecution.
The Convener and co-convener of the conference, Comrade Kabiru Dakatar and Ambassador Michael Nworiso, also called on President Bola Tinubu, to distance himself from Ganduje, arguing that failure to do so will compel the international community to tag Nigeria as fantastically corrupt.
The group said, “We appeal to President Bola Tinubu to distance his cabinet from people, like Ganduje, so that the International community will not tag Nigeria as Fantastically corrupt.”
Also, MACIN called on former Governor Ganduje to respect the laws of the land, including the Kano State Anti-Corruption law and submit himself for investigation, so as to allow justice to take it’s course.
” This deay tactics he is using will indicate that he is indirectly admitting the allegations that he collected five million dollars bribe but does not want to be investigated.
“Hiding the image of the brand new administration of H. E Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the President and Commander in Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. On this, Ganduje’s political associates have started bragging that they are the owners of the Presidency and nobody can investigate Ganduje. This also buttresses their long-time praise of Ganduje “Kano ci banzai Baba”, meaning you ate the loot nothing will happen.
“Using delay tactics in Court to stop inviting, arresting or or investigating him on the allegations. To actualize this, he already obtained a Cort order, stopping the Kano Anti-Corruption Commission, DSS and Police from arresting or investigate him,” the group said.
