Gombe ex-Deputy Speaker mom’s passage, Gov Yahaya mourns Hajiya Maryam
Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, was among hundreds of sympathisers who attended the funeral prayers of late Maryam Abubakar, mother to immediate past Deputy Speaker of the Gombe State House of Assembly Hon. Siddi Buba, who died at the age of 88 years.
Represented by the Secretary to the Gombe State Government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, the Governor said he received the news of the death of the mother to the former Deputy Speaker of the Gombe State House of Assembly with great shock and sadness.
“On behalf of the government and people of state grieve with the former Deputy Speaker and members of his immediate family over the devastating loss of a mother,” the governor’s statement partly read.
The Governor recalled that the deceased lived a worthy and exemplary life having mothered the likes of the Deputy Speaker and several others during her lifetime and urged members of the deceased family to bear the irreparable loss.
The Governor prayed the Almighty Allah to forgive her short comings and grant her Aljannatul Firdausi.
Present at the funeral prayers are members of the Gombe State House of Assembly, top Government Functionaries, politicians as well as friends and well wishers.
