Gombe SSG berates some Politicians for playing religious, ethnic cards in 2023 elections
Secretary to Gombe State Government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, has berated some political actors in the state for playing the religious and ethnic cards for selfish gains during the 2023 general elections.
Speaking to various political, social, and cultural groups who besieged his country home in Kaltungo on Saturday to felicitate with him over his reappointment as SSG by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, Njodi was particularly disturbed that young people are the tools being manipulated by these desperate politicians to perpetrate divisions among the people.
The SSG, however, stressed the need for proper equipping of the youth through mentorship, education and counselling to enable them assume leadership positions in the future.
He advised both partisan and non partisan politicians to always put the interest of their communities, state and country first in what they do as their legacies would outlive them and posterity will also judge them.
While appreciating the people for the show of love and support, Njodi appealed to religious, community and traditional leaders to positively invest in the youth to guarantee peace and development of Kaltungo Chiefdom, Gombe state and Nigeria at large.
Njodi assured his guests that he remains a worthy ambassador of Kaltungo Chiefdom, Gombe South and indeed Gombe State, calling on the entire people to rally support for Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, to enable him deliver on his campaign promises reminding them that politicking and elections are over what is crucial is governance.
Njodi received the various support groups, APC loyalists and well wishers in company of his ally Professor Abdullahi Bala Alhassan, Director Distance Learning of the University of Maiduguri among others.
