NG-CARES: CSDA issues first tranche cheques to Gombe communities

The General manager Gombe State Agency for Community and Social Development, Mallam Haruna Ahmed Imam, has commended the State Governor Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, for the prompt release of funds for the execution of the NG-CARES programme in the state.

The General Manager CSDA made the commendation during the community and group project launch and presentation of first tranche of cheques to about 30 communities and women groups across the state.

He said already, the state is in the second phase of the programme, a development he attributed to Governor Yahaya for supporting the CSDA and other NG-CARES platforms of the state to implement their activities.

Imam said already, work has begun in all the communities in their various areas of needs which include Primary Health Care Centres, Classroom blocks, Boreholes and Nutrition interventions.
The Manager Basic Services Mr Labilwa Ismaila, Finance and Administration Mallam Ibrahim Abubakar Gwani, and his counterpart in charge of Monitoring and Evaluation Mallam Sani Adamu, also participated in the signing of Financial Agreement and Presentation of cheques.
The Gombe State Coordinator Cares Unit Mr Michael Habila, who was part of the team explained that Nigeria COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (NG-CARES) programme is a Federal Government intervention supported by World Bank intended to cushion the effect of COVID-19 on the poor and vulnerable, which the state further domesticated the program to Gombe State COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus(GO-CARES ).
PERISCOPE NIGERIA reports that during the project launch which was performed in all the benefitting communities, the House of Assembly members representing Yamaltu/Deba Alhani Mohammed Kabir Kuri, and Alhaji Adamu Pata, and Honourable Siddi Buba, member representing Kwami West, whose constituencies will benefit from the projects, said the interventions would in no small measure, meet the needs of the common man, they commended the State Governor for having the people of the state at heart and the CSDA for their commitment and dedication to work.
Emir of Nafada Alhaji Muhammadu Dadum Hamza, that of Funakaye Alhaji Yakubu Mohammed Kwairanga the 3rd, and the Emir of Akko Alhaji Umar Mohammed Atiku, who was represented by Cigarin Akko and District Head of Barunde, Alhaji Idris Mohammed Atiku were full of happiness and gratitude to the State Governor for fulfilling his campaign promises.
The Community and Group management Committees promised to work according to specification and within timeframe, while expressing gladness for being chosen out of many others.
