It is on record that Governor Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, had stated that an announcement from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), of his victory as the winner of the 2023 gubernatorial election would see an influx of industries all over The God’s Own state, Abia.

This claim has been made valid and assured with the recent visitations and calibre of appointments made by the renowned economist cum financial expert, Dr Otti.

Counting from the first week of His Excellency’s Oath Of Office till date there has been over 30 outstanding industries and counting that have visited or indicated interest in partnering with Abia State government to establish a branch in the state mostly in the Aba, Umuahia, Arochukwu, Isuikwuato, Uzuakoli, Nvosi, Ohafia, Ndoki and Abiriba areas of the state.

The recent courtesy visit by leaders of these industries have been devoid of chauvinism coupled with the Governor’s political will to get Abia working.

These industries such as Dangote(Sugar and Cement factories), Cubana group (Odogwu Bitters), Innoson Motors, etc are major stake holders in Nigeri’a private enterprise and is sure to create at least an 80 per cent increase in the employment ratio of the inhabitants of Abia State.

Foreign companies are not exempted as we have recently witnessed visits to and from Chinese, Hungary and USA based companies indicating uttermost interest in establishing businesses in precisely Aba, the commercial hub of the South East part of Nigeria.

Certainly, the industrial effect of Dr Alex Chioma Otti’s emergence as the Governor of the God’s own state, will douse the tension created by the removal of fuel subsidy and also may make white collar jobs less attractive in the perspective of her citizens.

Suffice me to assert that it is quite glaring to the sight of all and sundry that the new government in Abia is out for a reparation or in most cases an over haul of all ministries, parastatals and every system that generates revenue for the well being of the State. This is due to the level of decadence and abysymal use of offices which the past government had a penchant for.

I must confess that this is the best time to be an Abian and truly we all can’t wait to experience an economic upgrade in the lives of both indigenous and residential occupants of Abia State.
