ABSEG frowns at Ikpeazu’s alleged attempt to forestall judicial panel

Abia State Equity Group on Friday frowned at alleged attempts of former Governor Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, to forestall investigation by judicial panel on his eight years reign in the state.
This was contained in a three- point resolution on ABSEG State Executive meeting, shared by its Convener Reverend Okechukwu Christopher Obioha.

The resolution also set up a seven-member government evaluation committee, expected to make appropriate recommendations to the State Governor Dr Alex Otti.
PERISCOPE NIGERIA reports that ABSEG is a non partisan but sociopolitical group in Abia State, that supports any government in place but constructively critic her activities and advise as when necessary to bring to bear dividends of democracy to citizens both home and abroad.

The resolution partly read, “A crucial and a very strategic meeting of local government chairmen and stakeholders of ABSEG was today held in umuahia with the foregoing resolutions at the close of deliberations:-
“To set up a seven-man evaluation of government committee whose duty is to identify and evaluate government policies directed at entrenching good governance in abia state and to make appropriate recommendations to the state governor for his perusal and necessary action.
“That ABSEG frowns and condemned in it’s ramifications attempts by the former governor to use the court to forestall the work of a judicial panel of inquiry on the activities of his eight years in office and stressed that such a behaviour only goes to show that there is a lot to hide from the people whose commonwealth were frivolously expended without tangible results and urged the Governor, Dr otti not to relent in his efforts at building transparency in government.
“It called on ABSEG members in the 17 local government areas of the state to be part of on going effort by Dr otti to return abia to the path of genuine growth and development.”
The Evaluation committee comprise of the following; Onyemaeze Rickie Anyaogu, as chairman; christopher c chigbu, as Secretary; Ubanu okechukwu, as member.
Others are; Deaconess Ada Eze oriaku, Comrade Angel NO ukah, Mba kalu and Lady Linda Uneze.
Our correspondent reports that the ABSEG State Executive meeting after its successful deliberations, arrangements, plans were put in place for the forthcoming September general meeting.
