Airport rift: Gombe Govt harps on synergy
….warns against act that undermines airport security, safety
Gombe State Government has again stressed the need for synergy between its and all Agencies of the Federal Government working at Maimalari International Airport until the Federal Government finally takes full ownership.

Secretary to Government of the State Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, stated this when he met with the Sole Administrator and heads of FG Agencies at the Airport on Wednesday for a debrief on security situation and other challenges surrounding its smooth operations.

He explained that before the takeover by the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, activities at the airport were moving on fine but however expressed the concern of Governor Muhammadu Yahaya over the sudden turn of events.
He tasked those that attended the meeting to as a matter of urgency put heads together and do the needful, adding that they must work in synergy in order to succeed.

While expressing his dismay over the attitude of the new airport Manager and the Chief Security Officer who are mostly causing some of the rift between staff of other agencies through the introduction of some stringent policies as well as the failure to honour the schedule meeting, Njodi said he would inform Governor Yahaya for appropriate action.
He noted that as a government, they would not fold their arms and watch things go the way it is, but must ensure that right things are done.
He said the state government has invested a substantial amount of money preparatory to the takeover and the administrator is there representing the state, calling on operating agencies to cooperate and work as a team.
Earlier in their separate submissions the heads of NAMA, NCAA, NiMet and the Nigerian Airforce said they are all ready to work in synergy as it has been the case until the advent of the new Airport manager who is making it difficult for them to operate especially his directive to close gate 4 that houses their various offices and equipment and called on the state government to quickly intervene to enable them perform their duties effectively.
They said they are loyal citizens and are ready and willing to serve the nation but needs a level playing ground to operate maximally.
They all commended the effort of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa towards the maintenance of the Airport.
