Association organises reception for Taraba women in politics
The Muri Women Development Association has organised grand reception for women in politics in Taraba State.

Our correspondent reports that the reception reception was held by the MWDA at the Jolly Nyame Stadium Jalingo (Gym Hall) on Sunday.

PERISCOPE NIGERIA gathered that the event was particularly organised to honour the newly appointed female Commissioners and the elected female Taraba State House of Assembly members.

The seven female Commissioners, two House of Assembly Members and some of Muri’s top political and traditional elites were in attendance.
Speaking during the event, Honourable Princess Leah Solomon, member representing Yorro, Zing and Jalingo constituency commended Dr Agbu Kefas, for including women and youths in his administration.

She noted that Kefas is fulfilling his promise as pledged during his campaign, adding that “this makes it first in the narrative of Taraba State to have seven women and youths in the positions of government.”
Solomon also applauded the wife of the governor Mrs Agyin Kefas, for always standing in and supporting women.
Also speaking, Commissioner for Social Justice and Reintegration, Dr Filister Iranimam Musa, expressed gratitude to God Almighty and the governor, Dr Agbu Kefas, for the inclusiveness and entrusting her to serve the state in the capacity of the commissioner.

She said, “it is a privilege for me to attend the program organized by the MWDA, a program put in place to honour women of Taraba State in positions both elected and appointed…my appreciation goes to the Muri Women for such a kind gesture.”
