Gombe Deputy Gov tasks fellowship of Christian Nurses on professionalism
The Deputy Governor of Gombe State, Dr Manassah Jatau, has tasked members of the fellowship of Christian Nurses in the nation to show difference in the discharge of their responsibilities of providing healthcare.

The Deputy Governor gave the charge when he received the National President of the fellowship in his office on a courtesy visit.

The Deputy Governor said, “I feel your predicaments while discharging your responsibilities, because you are dealing with patients who may likely transfer aggression on you, you need to be patient. I have interviewed some patients whose reports about how some of you treat patients and their reports are very unpleasant. I appeal to you, to show difference of the light in you based on your faith.
” You must be practical about your faith. I told some pastors Yesterday during the Thanksgiving service of Outgoing President of the Boys’ Brigade Nigeria, Gombe Chapter that, it is time they stop preaching with the Bible. Everybody has a bible, the only difference will be made when they practicalise biblical injunctions to show love to people irrespective of creed, tribe or religion.”
Jatau also took time to explain the biblical context of the end times, making references with the struggle for power even in the church, economic difficulties, including hunger which is another cause of sickness, and social vices, pointing out that everyone conversant with the scriptures knows that these things must come to pass and called on the people to remain focused on living according to the purpose of their being.
He said the administration of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, is doing everything possible to ensure uplifting the living standard of the people in all aspects of life especially in the health sector which is the driver of all sectors.
” Since inception of this administration, our first priority has been provision of quality health care. This is because when health is absent intelligence cannot perform and wealth cannot apply. We have provided health clinics in all 114 wards, upgraded three hospitals in three senatorial districts, in Kaltungo, Akko, and Bajoga.
“We are constructing a standard school of nursing which will conveniently accommodate 600 students, and many other policies on health towards overall improvement of the health of the people in the state,” he added.
He appreciated the choice of Gombe state for their 62nd national conference, assuring them of partnership, and support towards meeting the health and spiritual needs of their members and entire humanity.

Speaking earlier, the National President, Fellowship of Christian Nurses of Nigeria, Mr. Abalis Dasat informed the Deputy Governor that they were in the state for their National Conference and in the Deputy Governor’s Office to pay tribute to the Government.
He said the the vision and mission of the fellowship is to care for the total man both the body and the Spirit considering that their complete wellbeing matter in this life and the hereafter.
The National President further explained that, the National Conference gives opportunity fro the members from across Nigeria to meet and look into challenges of healthcare, and medical practice with a view to remaining focused and effective in meeting the health needs of the people.
Speaking on the recent removal of the oil subsidy by the Federal Government which plunges the nation into serious economic hardship Dasat described the situation as somebody rejoicing over the birth of a child but who hasn’t made any plan for the baby.
He called on the federal government to consider hastening the provision of palliatives to cushion the effect of the hardship since the hardship also constitute health hazard to the people.
