Increase house allowances to your wives or ……. says Gombe CP
By Samson Dairus
The Gombe State Commissioner of Police, CP Oqua Etim, has called on men of the Nigerian Police force to be responsible and take care of their homes.

He made this known at the piping ceremony held in honour of 270 newly promoted officers to the ranks of ASP I and II.
The CP made the call while charging the officers to be put in what they have learnt in every facet of their lives.

He said, “With this promotion I expect you to ensure that your turnout will change, you become more impeccable, house allowances to your wives must increase.”
The CP also admonished the newly decorated officers to always dress smart.
“I will not hesitate to sanction any of you seen in tattered uniforms, shoes, whatever,” he added.
The Police commissioner also admonished the officers not to shy away from courses and other capacity building workshops and seminars, as the field of crime and criminality is fast changing, so the police officer must change with the times in order to be relevant.
“Times are changing in the country…more people are getting more aware, the police too are getting more challenges…highly intelligent men are getting involved in crime, and for you to stop them, you must educate yourselves,” the CP cautioned.
Our correspondent reports that no fewer than 180 of the policemen were promoted to the rank of ASP II (unconfirmed), while 90 were confirmed as ASP I.
