Just In: Gombe Gov approves appointment of 11 District, 21 Village Heads
Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, has approved the appointments of no fewer than 11 District Heads and 21 Village Heads for five emirates and traditional councils.
The Secretary to Government of the State, Professor Ibrahim Njodi, who conveyed the governor’s approval, in a statement made available on Friday by Ismaila Misilli, Director-General Press Affairs Gombe Government House to journalists.
“This is in exercise of the powers vested in the Governor under the creation of Emirates, Districts, Villages and Wards as well as appointment and disposition of Emirs and Chiefs Law,” the statement partly read.
Our correspondent reports that Gona Emirate has 12 Village Heads, Pindiga Emirate has nine, while out of the 11 District Head Gona Emirate has six, two for Pindiga Emirate, Dukku has one, Funakaye one and Kaltungo one.
The statement added, “The following has been appointed as District Heads under Gona Emirate; Nasiru Saidu Ahmed (Garko), Usman Idrisa Aliyu (Lafiya Mango), Mohammed Abubakar ( Kalshingi), Bello Hassan (Lawanti), Dahiru Abdulkadir Abdussalam (Amada) and Abubakar Muhammad (Shongo).
“Those appointed as Village Heads under Gona Emirate are; Lawan Sintali Tukulma ( Garin Modibbo), Bashar Maikudi Manu ( Tumfure North), Magaji Adamu ( Njomari), Ibrahim Gurama Mohammed ( Yankari), Dauda Tafida Bomala ( Bomala), Abba Haruna ( Tumfure South) and Abdullahi Lamido Umar (Lawanti). Others are: Abubakar Daudu Muhammad ( Dagarawo), Abubakar Muhammad Idrisa (Shongo-Idrisa), Hamisu Abubakar (Kalshingi), Adamu Mohammed (Wuro Tanna) and
Aliyu Saidu ( Gona).
“For Pindiga Emirate, the Governor approved the appointment of Barrister Mohammed Magaji Ibrahim as district head of Tai and Abubakar Sarki Ahmed as district head of Kashere South with the following as village heads; Nelson Ishaku Mamuda ( Dongol- Alewa), Muhammad Baba Kembu ( Jabba), Abubakar Musa Mai-jari ( Lambo- Daji), Ismaila Mohammed ( Tamfifi), Warrajo Alhaji Liman ( Warra), Umaru Muhammadu ( Badara), Muhammadu Jungudo ( Hammaseyo), Samaila Uba ( Maiganga) and Sanusi Matawalle ( Garin Alkali).”
While emphasising that all appointments are with immediate effect, the statement added, “For Dukku Emirate, Mohammed Haruna is appointed district head of Lafiya, while Umaru Mohammed Lamido is the new district head of Bodor in Funakaye Emirate. Similarly, Sulaiman Hamza is appointed district head of Awak in Kaltungo Chiefdom.”
