Leaders shower encomiums on late Yariman Gombe
…..describe Umar as detribalised elder statesman

Leaders from different walks of life have been pouring encomiums on the late Yarima Gombe, Alhaji Abdulkadir Abubakar Umaru, describing him as peaceful and detribalised traditional leader.
The death of the octogenarian, Yarima Gombe, Alhaji Umaru was announced on Tuesday evening, and was buried on Wednesday at 2 pm.

Our correspondent reports that his internment attracted dignitaries from all walks of life to Gombe State recently to condole the immediate family, Gombe Emirate Council and the people of Gombe State over the death of revered Prince.
The mammoth sympathisers who attended the burial were unpredictable because of the life and times of deceased Yarima Gombe, Alhaji Abdulkadir Abubakar Umaru.

The mammoth crowd include Governors, Senators, Members of House of Representatives, diplomatic corps, members of the State House of Assembly, traditional rulers, religious leaders, business class, technocrats, public servants, women, youths , farmers, artisans and various communities paid their last respects to this icon,Yarima Gombe.
Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, described the passage of the traditional leader as a huge loss to the state and the nation.

According to the Governor, he abandoned his tight schedules and flew back to Gombe for the burial, adding “this is a personal loss to me. Yariman was a father and worthy leader who was ever-supportive, and who spared nothing to ensure unity, peace and harmony in the society.”
He further disclosed that the deceased was an iconic figure and man of great wisdom, who led with dignity and respect.
He said, “the late Yarima was a highly respected leader, who was a symbol of inspiration to the people, and who left behind a huge vacuum and indelible footprints. We will surely miss his fatherly guidance and counsel.”
“Throughout his years of reign as a district head, Yarima was known for preaching peace and championing the course of unity and harmony, not only within his Gombe district but across the entire state. His contributions to the community and Gombe State in general will be remembered for years to come.
“During this difficult time, it is important to remember the positive impact that he had on the community and the nation, and to honor his memory by upholding his legacy of leadership and selfless service.”
Also, former Governor of Gombe State who is also a serving senator, Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, condoled the Emir of Gombe, Alhaji Abubakar Shehu Abubakar III and Emirate Council over the death of Yarima Gombe, Alhaji Abdulkadir Abubakar Umar.
In a condolence letter to His Royal Highness the Emir of Gombe on Wednesday, the Senator expressed his heavy heart and profound sadness on the news of the demise of his father the Yariman Gombe, Alhaji Abdulkadir Abubakar Umar.
Dankwanbo said, “Yariman Gombe was a remarkable individual who dedicated his life to the service of his people and the development of Gombe State. His unwavering commitment to the betterment of the society and his numerous contributions in various spheres of life will always be cherished and remembered.
“During his lifetime, Yariman Gombe demonstrated an exceptional level of leadership and selflessness. His exemplary character, wisdom, and integrity made him a role model for us. His passion for educational advancement and his immense contributions to the promotion of education in Gombe State will forever be etched in our memories.”
According to him, “Yariman Gombe’s demise is an irreplaceable loss not only to his family but also to the entire Gombe Emirate. His absence will be deeply felt by all those who had the privilege of knowing him. We can only find solace in the knowledge that In Sha Allah his legacy will continue to inspire and guide us as we strive to build upon the foundations he laid.
” In this time of grief, I offer my sincere condolences to Your Royal Highness, the immediate family of Yariman Gombe, the Gombe Emirate Council, and the good people of Gombe State. May the Almighty Allah grant you all the strength and fortitude to bear this loss. May He also grant the departed soul eternal rest and admit him into Al-Jannah Firdaus.”
Also, the former Governor who is a senator of the Federal Republic, Senator Mohammed Danjuma Goje also paid his glowing tribute to late Yariman Gombe whom he described as detribalised, humble, articulate and handworking whose activities they are greatly going to miss, asking God to grant his soul perfect peace and the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
