NUC visits Gombe over Lincoln University Kumo
…as Gombe SGS lauds Gov Yahaya’s commitment to educational development
A team from the Nigerian Universities Commission, has arrived Gombe State to inspect facilities at the Lincoln University Kumo as part of preliminaries for the eventual commencement of academic activities.

The team which is led by the Dr Noel Saliu, was earlier at the Government House on a courtesy visit where the Secretary to the Government of the State received them on behalf of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.
Speaking, Saliu expressed confidence that the Lincoln University Kumo will be a reference point to subsequent Universities across the country.
He said “the NUC will not settle for anything short of excellent delivery from Lincoln University Malaysia as it partners the Gombe State Government towards the establishment of same in Kumo the headquarters of Gombe State.”
Responding, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, thanked the NUC for the complimentary remarks towards the state government commitment to expand the frontiers of educational development in the state.
He said the partnership agreement between the Gombe State Government and Lincoln University Malaysia to establish a University in Kumo is due to the financial burden inherent in the management of Universities.
Njodi observed that as a small state with lean resources, Gombe cannot afford to conveniently run two Universities and other institutions of higher learning.
He called on the Management of Lincoln University Kumo not to be economical with the truth about the institutionalisation as the NUC is not a witch-hunting organisation but a problem solving one.
