The Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission says its committed towards working with federating units across the country to ensure compliance with remittances that were once agreed and ratified by Agencies of government.

The Federal Commissioner representing Nasarawa State in the Commission, Aliyu Abdulkadir, gave this indication when he visited the Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya at the Government House today, on Monday.

Abdulkadir remarked that as a Commission with oversight on the Federal Inland Revenue Service, their visit to Gombe is in the best interest of the Federal, State and Local Government Areas.
He said the Commission is not in the state to probe or investigate any Agency of government but to ensure that remittances are done in accordance to laid down procedure so that federating units of government can access what is due to them.
Abdulkadir explained that the delegation is also in the state to establish the collection of stamp duties by both the State and the Local Government as according to him the centralisation of government activities in the state makes it easier for the commission carry out its assignment with ease.
The Federal Commissioner representing Nasarawa State in the Commission noted that a well coordinated collection of revenue and remittance to the Federation Account is not only critical to boosting the revenue profile of the country but equally seeks to increase the statutory allocation of the federating units.
He commended the administration of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, for his incredible leadership in transforming the state, noting that such can only be possible when remittances are done according to laid down rules and regulations.
Responding, Governor Yahaya, who was represented by the Secretary to Government of the State, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, informed his guests that the leadership disposition of the leadership is such that Nigeria must work in the interest of the people.
He said the only way to ensure the workability of the country is through the timely collection and remittance of revenue to the appropriate channel.
“I have in all sincerity followed what the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission RMAFC is doing for the country even when I was the Vice Chancellor University of Maiduguri I have been interfacing and working closely with this commission,” he said.
Yahaya described RMAFC as a superintendent of what the nation generate as revenue, saying without the pragmatism of the commission the nation may run into financial chaos.
He said the importance of the commission to the financial stability of the country cannot be overemphasize in view of it’s centrality in determining who gets what when and how.
He assured the Commission that the state government under the leadership of Governor Inuwa Yahaya is not only committed and open to the principle of transparency accountability and responsive process.
He thanked the leader of the delegation for identifying with the giant stride of Governor Yahaya, saying this was the reason why the people of the state voted him for a second term in office.
