Subsidy: Gov Yahaya inaugurates committee on distribution of palliatives
… warns against diversion
Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has inaugurated a steering committee on the distribution of palliatives to vulnerable households in the state. The palliatives is expected to cushion the hardship faced by the people due to the removal of fuel subsidy

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony Yahaya said his administration is not unmindful of the hardship faced by the people hence the inauguration of the committee to begin the distribution of palliatives.
Represented by the Secretary to Government the State, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, the Governor enjoined the committee to work out modalities for the flag off of the distribution exercise expected to take place on Tuesday in Hinna district of Yalmatu Deba Local Government.

The Governor charged the committee to be diligent in the discharge of their assignment knowing fully well that the items so provided for distribution are strictly meant for the most vulnerable households in the state and not the haves.
The Chairman of the state steering committee on the distribution of palliatives Haruna Abdullahi Haruna, assured the Governor that the committee will effectively and transparently discharge its assignment.
He thanked the Governor for the confidence repose in the committee, disclosing that a template would be generated for the formation of sub-committees at the local and ward levels to ensure that the palliative get to the intended households.
