Adamawa CAN distributes palliatives to 3,000 less privileged

Christian Association of Nigeria, Adamawa chapter on Wednesday distributed palliatives to no fewer than 3,000 less privilege persons to cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal.

The CAN Chairman, Rev Damin Mamza, who spoke during the distribution in Yola, said, the gesture was courtesy of Adamawa government to CAN, the Muslim Council and other groups for the less privilege persons.

“Adamawa is one of the state that has benefited from the palliative of the Federal Government, under the leadership of Gov. Fintiri have swing into action in order to make sure that the needy get the palliative”, he said

According to him, CAN was given 1,500 of 10 kg and 300 of 50kg bags of rice.

“When the palliative come to us we decided to shared into five blocks for each block to identify the needy in their own churches and their respective communities for distribution”, Ma said.

He said the blocks are; Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN), Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN), Organisation of Indigenous Church (OIC), Christian Pentecostal Fellowship (CPF/PFN) and ECWA.

Mamza said each group was given 300 of 10kg and 60 of 50kg bags for their people.

He thanked Gov. Fintiri for the gesture and urged the distribution committee to ensure that the gesture reach the needy especially at the grassroots not to share it among politicians.

“I even told the CAN officials that non of them should be a beneficiary to this, let the needy benefit because its meant for them.

“Its evil act and sinful if what is meant for the needy and taken by those who really doesn’t need it”, he said.

Masdakwa Auta a beneficiary appreciated the gesture saying it would definitely help her as she was in need of it before the current situation in the country.

Another beneficiary David expressed happiness over the palliative and prayed for CAN and Adamawa government to success.

The CAN chairman have also donated the sum of N300,000 for the beneficiaries under his block to used it for transport back home
