Gov Yahaya inaugurates 16-member Committee on closure of Gala Houses
Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has inaugurated the Taskforce Committee for the closure of Gala Recreational Houses in the state.

Inaugurating the Taskforce Committee on behalf of the Governor, Secretary to Government of the State, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, said the constitution of the Taskforce became necessary to rid the state from the disturbing menace being caused by the activities of Gala joints across the state.

He said the task of the Committee though herculean, was surmountable with determination and commitment considering the caliber of the taskforce membership.

Njodi revealed that the committee is expected to among other things to identity all Gala houses locations and demolish them where necessary.
The SGS also requested the committee to advice government on all issues pertaining such activities for necessary action.
Responding, the Chairman of the Taskforce Committee, Group Captain Bitrus Peter Bilal (retd.), appreciated Governor Yahaya for his unwavering commitment to rid the bad elements and their activities in the state.
Bilal also commended the Governor for finding them worthy to contribute in the noble job of sanitising the state assuring of their commitment to work assiduously to deliver on the terms of reference within the ambit of the law.
The Committee members are drawn from the Security Agencies, Religious bodies, Media, and Civil Society Organisations and the civil service.
Recall that Governor Yahaya has last week directed the closure of all Gala Houses in the state all in an effort to reduced social vices which was on the increase in the State.
