GSU announces convocation ceremony for 5,944 graduands
….. VP Shettima to get honorary doctorate degree

The management of Gombe State University, on Sunday announced 7th of October 2023 as convocation of 5,944 graduands.
Our correspondent reports that the graduands have been found worthy in character and in learning.
According to a voice-over announcement obtained by PERISCOPE NIGERIA, which was signed by Dr Abubakar Aliyu Bafeto, the institution’s Registrar, there would be convocation lecture by Dr Usman Bugaje on October 6.
The announcement partly stated, “Convocation lectures will be conducted by Dr Usman Bugaje, which is scheduled to take place on Friday 6th of October 2023. It will be followed by the main event coming up on Saturday at the convocation square were 5,944 students are expected to graduate from the first established state-owned University in the entire Northeastern part of the country.”
Bafeto disclosed in the voice-over announcement that Nigeria’s Vice President Kashim Shettima would be awarded honorary doctorate degree and launching of N10 billion endowment fund.
“The convocation include higher degrees, and conferment of honorary degrees to some prominent Nigerians among whom is His Excellency Senator Kashim Shettima (GCON), the Vice President Federal Republic of Nigeria. Also at the event there will be a launching of N10 billion endowment fund at sadakatuljariya for the resuscitation of Education industry,” the announcement added.
