How closure of gala houses is blessing to Hoteliers in Gombe State

Gombe State Governor, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, recently ordered the immediate closure of all ‘Gala Houses’ within the state.
PERISCOPE NIGERIA reports that the Gala Houses popularly known as “Gidan wasa” in Hausa language are Jami’a Gidan Wanka located at Mile 3 Yola Road, Gombe, White House Theatre (Babban Gida) located at New Mile 3 Yola Road, Gombe; Gidan Lokaci General Merchant located at Mile 3 Reservoir Road, Gombe and Farin Gida Entertainment II located at Wuro Karal, Kalshingi Road, Gombe.

Others are Gidan Zamani Entertainment New Mile 3, Yola Road, Tumfure, Gombe; Albarka Entertainment Located at Wuro Karal, Bypass near Hara Form, Gombe; Gala Houses Located at Kuri Town, Lubo village and Kurba village all in Yamaltu Deba Local Government Area.
The reasons according to the directive of the Governor which was announced by the Secretary to Government of the State, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, was followed by the series of complaints from the general public on the incessant immoral, criminal activities and security breaches being perpetrated in such night clubs.
With these developments, the insinuations and unfounded propaganda been spread considering some hotels located in the areas such as Rocket Hotels and others have been laid to rest.
Investigations on Sunday have revealed that the beautiful and serenity of these hotels along the new mile 3 have been restored and the residents have commended the Governor Yahaya for exhibiting the political will when it was needed.
An eye witness account disclosed further that with the closure of the gala houses situated along the new mile 3, Rocket Hotels will now provide comfortable accommodations, beautiful serenity, with adequate provision of power supply and water is no doubt, as a place of relaxation and cynosure for users of the facilities.
According to them, the quality of this multi -million Naira hotel that provides job opportunities to the Youths with well dressed and experienced staff is a place to spend holidays in Gombe State, with affordable good rates.
While commending the idea behind the closure of gala houses, they claimed that it has lower the economical activities of localities and by extension the Gombe State tax drive “because the hotels provide revenue and job opportunities to youths,” some of the respondents who begged for anonymity said.
Also, another resident also called on the state government to provide roads to the area.
They also lauded the Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Muhammad Bello Mu’azu, and his operatives for ensuring strict adherence to Governor Yahaya’s directive.
