Rural Societies: The need to be measuredly considerate, in project allocation and infrastructure building
By Muhammad Sulaiman Gama
Rural societies have a very copious number of people in terms of population in Nigeria, and they effortlessly trying their best during election in producing both state and national representatives for the mindset of development and changes of their conservative lives; but unfortunately, the politicians after their electoral successes used to dump the people by exhibiting a luxurious life which can’t longer be helpful.
The 16th president of United States of America Abraham Lincoln 1861-1865, conceived the concept “Democracy as a government of the people, by the people, and for the people.” Democracy as the government of the people this is means the Nigerian government have to be accountable for both urban and rural areas in terms of projects allocation as it practicing democracy.
Speaking with some rural habitants found out that, they are also facing limited scarcity of any basic social amenities of life subordination. Such as water supply, good road, food maintenance like (modern silo) schools and primary healthcare. E.t.c It’s in my country (Nigeria) where you could find government is only doing projects in the capital city, while leaving the rural settlements in jobless circumstances and predicament situation. In my thoughts, “Adequate and proper higher standard of life have to be established at rural areas of which will lead to positive consequences and reduction in poverty and rate of insurgency. Because, societies wouldn’t survive without education and effective communication. Whereas our politicians and government can’t take look into communities and make necessary impact therefore, banditry and others economic crisis can’t be desegregated as every chaos has a link origination from the villages, hideous or otherwise. I want to draw the attention of government about distortive situations in which rural societies are. Their lives are highly important and they all inholding equality mandamus like any other person on earth, their lives need restructive help, considering their contribution regards to economic growth like farming and rearing. Had a governor or any other political representative will visit villages that, he would surely astonished. You may find out several of them are vagabond and lacking even a borehole water to drink, fetching and drinking water from pond, lake and any other means of survivability. Sleeping in the mushrooms and absence of good road to export their agricultural products to urbans.
Surprisingly, many governmental representatives were originally from rural societies but why did them ignored their biological destination?
Are them radically insane? No! Rather lack of intent mindset of development and jealous of their constituencies. This is seriously a challenge to us and also a slap on our face, leaving such worthy environment in dark and less considerate. Therefore, there must be revolution if action not taken. As one proverb said. A little drop of water should one day make a mighty ocean. Nevertheless, government have to take an insights action owing to escaping an innocents lives.
“The writer emphasised.”
Finally, we prays for peace not for war, and development not for recession, unity among tribes not for selves disintegration.
