But the crazy thing is, even though AI is shaking things up, it’s also creating a lot of new opportunities. Like, imagine being able to get financial advice from an AI that’s tailored to your specific needs and goals, or having a personalized shopping experience that knows exactly what you want before you even ask. It’s wild stuff!
AI technology has the potential to help us solve some of our biggest problem facing humanity but it could also create new problems if we are not careful. AI works by gathering data, and every like, click or shares adds to the digital footprint. The topics we read the most in the news, the things we buy online, the people we talk to most. This data can be used by companies. In some places around the world, AI technology is being used to determine whether someone should be admitted to a university or receive a job interview. If this technology is not programmed carefully to avoid prejudices, some people may be denied an opportunity.
The youth of today are growing up surrounded by artificial intelligence (AI). Their values, ways of thinking and moral codes are all shaped not only by their parents or immediate relations and friends but also by the technology that is ever present in their daily lives. Are youth and even parents being educated how to use AI systems responsibly.
