DSS operative raises alarm over alleged missing organ

An operative of Department of State Services, posted to the Niger State Government House on Friday, decried alleged disappearance of his genitals.
Our correspondent reports that over the past few weeks there have been outcry on the theft of organs.
According to a source, who begged anonymity noted that the DSS operative raised the alarm shortly after the Friday Jumat prayer inside the Government House.
He noted that immediately the DSS raised the alarm, security was beefed up at the gate and people and vehicles coming out of the Government House were subjected to thorough search.
“I was driving out of the Government House when I noticed confusion at the gate. I saw the DDS man crying and lamenting that his private part had disappeared. He also said he could not identify one of the people going for the Jumat prayer that shook hands with him.
“They asked me to open the boot of my car and I was wondering if they thought somebody would put the private part in the boot of a car,” the source said.
The security operatives at the Government House entrance who were over 20 comprising DSS and police personnel were thrown into confusion as they quickly rushed the officer to a nearby hospital.
Meanwhile, the Chief Press Secretary of the governor, Bologi Ibrahim, in a statement debunked the allegation describing it as baseless.
The statement partly read, “Niger State Government has dispelled the baseless rumour regarding the incident at the Government House where it was alleged that someone’s genitals went missing.
“The alleged rumour in circulation regarding the incident and subsequent disappearance of the culprit was erroneous.
“While acknowledging the important roles of the media in reporting news, it remains pertinent that journalists exercise responsible journalism and refrain from spreading unverified rumours that can cause panic and anxiety among the public.
“The security measures at the Government House Minna remain robust and efficient, as they have always been and the security operatives are always conscious of the safety and well-being of everyone within the premises and the state as a whole.
“The media and the public are hereby called upon to rely on credible sources of information and refrain from sharing or spreading unverified rumours.”
