Father to the alleged killer of Aishatu Abdullahi, Adamu Isa, also known as Adamu Sarki, has debunked insinuations that his son is already 18 years old.
The Gombe State Police command had recently paraded his son as prime suspect in the killing of Abdullahi, who was slain in her Jekadafari home last Friday night.
He was said to be 18 years by the police, who promised to charge him for murder, following evidence that young Isa, killed the 58-year-old woman.
Confirming the age of his son on Sunday, through birth certificate exclusively obtained by our correspondent, Isa noted that his son is 17 years old and not 18 years as claimed by the police but would be 18 by November.
He said, “My son is not 18 but he is 17 years. You can check the birth certificate he was born in November, 2005. They are only trying to increase his age.”
Speaking further he disclosed that the suspect is his first born, adding “he is 17 years old but before him i had three sons that died and they were older than him but for now he is my eldest son.”
“My child was arrested and accused of killing the deceased, God is the only one that knows us and our children, if i was told my child did something bad i don’t have an excuse or reason to say he did not do it, i know the type of upbringing i gave my children not just me including those who knows me better can testify to fact that i train my children very well. since i gave birth to this child, he has never engaged in a fight that involved dangerous weapon, but to my greatest surprise he was involved in such a very big crime is something that now baffles me.
“Almost everytime the police called me and asked me questions because of my closeness to the deceased, even her children doesn’t know some of her secrets like me. She was my very close friend and that alone if i remember hurts me a lot if i remember.I was with her when she was called the night she was killed, she told me some of her secrets that i will be proud to say that it was just me thay knew about it.
“Honestly, speaking the security personnel tried their best in doing their investigation, and in all their investigations i will not say is not correct and for that may God grant them more wisdom to know whatsoever will cause harm to people and grant them the ability and knowledge to know even before the occurrence,” Isa added.
On the alleged killing Isa condemned the act, saying “We are begging the Almighty to prevent such from happening in future with other people and his protection to be upon each and everyone. But since this incident occurred there is nothing we can do about it but we seek for God’s mercy since he’s the creator of all man kind and he know our hearts. Sincerely, is a big challenge for us and our son was involved in a very big crime, we pray that God will grant the deceased promise, and may God grant her children peace of mind and comfort them towards the painful demise of their mother because in their life they will never forget the incident.”
