Mohammed Saidu Fawu assumes duty as Commissioner in Gombe
– promises to actualise the aspiration of Muhammadu inuwa Yahaya’s campaign promises in Water, Environment and Forestry
The Commissioner for Water, Environment and Forest Resources Mohammed Saidu Fawu, has on Monday assumed duty and has taken charge of affairs of the ministry.
In a brief handover and welcome ceremony which took place in the office of the Commissioner had in attendance eminent personalities and well wishers who accompanied him to office on his first day.
While delivering his remarks the Fawu profoundly appreciated God Almighty for the opportunity to serve in the capacity and also appreciated Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya for finding him worthy to serve Water, Environment and Forest Resources as well as member Gombe State Executive Council.
He equally expressed his delight for the warm reception accorded to him and his supporters which signifies commitment and togetherness in achieving the stated goals and objectives of the ministry.
He thereafter charged the staff of the ministry to be law abiding and continue to show zeal and dedication to duty and also to give him maximum cooperation and support so that Policies and Programmes of the Government will be implemented smoothly.
Earlier, Permanent Secretary, Danladi Adamu, while delivering the welcome address used the opportunity to congratulate Fawu, on behalf of the management and staff of the ministry on his swearing in and subsequent deployment.
The Permanent Secretary assured the Honourable Commissioner of staff unalloyed support and maximum cooperation in the realisation of policies and programmes of the ministry are effectively implemented.
Adamu however intimated the Commissioner of the ongoing merger and harmonisation processes of the ministry to one entity as Ministry of Water, Environment and Forest Resources which has kick-started already.
Present at the event were Permanent Secretary Establishment and Service Matters, Directors, Project Coordinators of ACReSAL and SURWASH and eminent personalities led by Ambassador Mohammed Saidu Fawu, Alhassan Fawu and Hon. Babaji Babadidi, as well as friends, well-wishers and supporters who accompanied the Commissioner to office.
