Njodi directs taskforce on Boltongo Citizenship Training Centre to expedite completion
The Secretary to Government of Gombe State, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, has directed the taskforce handling the construction of Leadership, Citizenship Training Centre and NYSC Orientation Camp Boltongo, in Yamaltu Deba Local Government Area to forward immediate requirement for its takeoff.
Njodi gave the directive when he led top government officials on an inspection visit to the project site at Boltongo in Yamaltu Debe LGA.
The SSG said, “Given government’s huge spending on the project and it’s significance to youth engagement and empowerment, all hands should be on deck to ensure it’s completion as soon as possible.”
He further explained that the visit which is at the instance of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, became imperative to allow for physical assessment and interaction with the taskforce, project consultant and the NYSC management to identify grey arrears and things needed urgent attention for government action
While commending the project taskforce for doing a good job Professor Njodi also directed that a comprehensive report on identified additional works and cost should reach his office immediately.
The SSG assured the State NYSC Management of government concern and commitment to complete and hand over the camp knowing full well the challenges at Amada temporary Orientation Camp.
Conducting the SGS and his entourage round the complex Architect Aminu, explained that the project which commenced last year has reached advanced stage and assured that with the level of Governor Yahaya’s support the project Will soon be delivered.
In his remarks, the representative of the state NYSC Coordinator Mr Gabriel Watsu, appreciated the Gombe State Government for its commitment to erecting a befitting Camp for the scheme and noted that sporting facilities, staff accommodation and health clinic needed to be provided.
The Tasksforce Secretary, Mrs Shiprah Poloma, informed the SGS that most of the structures designed earlier were almost completed appealing to government to consider provision of the identified additional works especially those with compelling importance.
She commended the SGS for providing the needed support and guidance to the taskforce committee which has led to hitch free execution of the project.
The inspection visit also culminated with the flag off of tree planting provided by the ACReSAL by Njodi at the Citizenship, Leadership training Centre/NYSC Orientation Camp.
The SSG was accompanied on the inspection visit by the State Commissioner Youth and Sports Development Adamu Inuwa Pantami, Permanent Secretaries and Directors.
