Scam: Gombe TSC debunks N2,000 acceptance fee
The Gombe State Teachers’ Service Commission has debunked message requesting N2,000 payment as acceptance fees for recruitment process.
According to a press statement, issued by Saidu Malala, on behalf of the Chairperson Naomi Maigwa, the Commission disclosed that the notice didn’t emanate from its fold.
“TSC has been drawn to a piece of information going viral on social media handles requesting for payments of the sum of N2000 as an acceptance fee payable to a WEMA Bank account purported to be from the Commission by some selfish and dubious elements,” the statement partly read.
Maigwa noted for job offers to be considered authentic it would be advertised on its website, urging the public not to fall victim, adding “For the avoidance of doubt, the Commission is not in anyway requesting for money or any other form of gratification from applicants as a result of recruitment exercises and other responsibilities of the Commission.”
Maigwa added, “Even in the last recruitment exercise of 1000 teachers, all information about the exercise was shared via the commission’s official portal for proper guidance and the Commission has finished this excerise long ago. There is neither a fresh recruitment exersise nor a WEMA Bank account.
“Therefore members of the public should disregard the piece being circulated and should always contact the Commission for clarification on all issues in such regard.”
