TEPU commits to partner Gombe govt strengthen framework for dev’t
The Tangale East Progressive Union has pledged to work closely with Gombe State Government in strengthening institutional framework for development.

The National President of the Union Professor Simon Malang Kawe made this pledge when he led Executive members of the Union on a familiarisation visit to the Secretary to Government of Gombe State, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi at the Government House, Gombe.

Represented by the Vice President of the Union Dr Abidan David Lautor, the President said the Union would also seek collaboration with the Inuwa Yahaya’s administration in its quest to ginger support for developmental efforts of the Governor in the state and Tangale East in particular.
Professor Kawe, also appreciated Governor Yahaya for his love for Tangale East Communities as demonstrated by the reappointment of one of its own Professor Njodi as SGS and two of its members as Permanent Secretaries in addition to the unprecedented multi billion naira remodeling of General Hospital and GSSS (Lakanje) all in Kaltungo.
While assuring continued loyalty and support of the Tangale East Communities comprising of Ture, Kaltungo and Shongom to the state government, Kawe appealed to the government to look into the possibility of reaching out to some the rural communities with infrastructural development.
He further explained that TEPU is committed to fostering unity among member communities and its neighbours, attracting development, empowerment and promotion and preservation of the peoples culture heritage for future generations.
Earlier, the immediate past President of the Union Professor Nibron Manjack, had informed the SGS that following expiration of tenure of the last Executive Council an election was conducted and new leadership emerged whom he presented.
Professor Manjack used the opportunity to appreciate Njodi for his unwavering commitment and support to the Union since inception and appealed to him to extend same to the new TEPU Executive.
In response, Professor Njodi congratulated the new Executive on their emergence reminding them the huge responsibility placed on their shoulders, which they must deliver.
Professor Ibrahim Njodi also commended them for the recognition of the giant strides of Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s transformation efforts especially in Tangale East which he attributed to the love of the governor for the people.
The SGS also encouraged TEPU to take advantage of opportunities being provided by the state government to bring development to their people assuring that he would continue to support genuine efforts of the Union at all times.
Highlights of the visit which had in attendance Commissioner of Agriculture, Dr Barnabas Malle, Permanent Secretaries and Directors in the SGS’ office include the presentation of a congratulatory letter and appointment letter as member board of trustees as well as a standing roll-on flex banner by the representative of the TEPU President, Dr Abidjan David Lautor.
