USAID Nigeria hands over 59,000 cartons of RUTF to three states
The United States Agency for International Development Nigeria has hosted partners to a handover ceremony of over 59,000 cartons of Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food to the governments of Sokoto, Kebbi, and Bauchi States, which would be managed through the governments Drug Revolving Fund mechanism.

Periscope Nigeria reports that RUTF is complementary food use to treat Severe Acute Malnutrition in under five children.
In the past, the cost and availability of RUTF in Nigeria has been a barrier for health centers to have enough RUTF supplied. Now, by working with the GoN, health centers will have access to an affordable and sustainable supply of RUTF

Our correspondent reports that the Integrated Health Programme works to address malnutrition by equipping health care workers with skills to administer the RUTF and has also supported the upgrade of local facilities to serve as distribution centre.
