The Gombe State Community and Social Development Agency, (CSDA) NG cares Programme has commissioned a Health Care Centre furnished with equipment and VIP toilet at Kalindi Alhaji Ade in Billiri Local Government Area.
Commissioning the project, the General Manager Of CSDA Malam Haruna Ahmed Imam, said it is part of Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s agenda to provide healthcare services to people at the grassroot.

He said CSDA covered 95 per cent of the project sum while the community paid five percent, adding that four more projects have been approved by Governor Yahaya.
Periscope Nigeria reports that the communities include Kyilapandi, Kekkel, Amuta, Wukkumana, and Kwibah.

Imam called for the sustainability of the project and appreciated the state governor, saying “for always supporting the agency which he said, resulted to the successful implementation of projects across the state.”
The Primary Health Care Director Billiri Local Government Area Mrs Patricia Levi, said the health facility has outpatient department, female and male wards and a labour room.

She said the Local Government Area has deployed personnel that would be responsible for the running and use of the facility, urging them to refer cases difficult to manage to a higher health facility.
The Galadiman Tangale and the District Head of Bare, Alhaji Yunusu Adamu, who was full of gratitude to the state government and CSDA for the construction of the health centre said the area hitherto lacked health facility.
He urged the people to properly utilise the health centre to better their health status and practice maintenance culture.
The Galadima also advised the community to own the project and to take care of it, in order to stand the test of time.
Also, the Village Head of the area Alhaji Ade Ari, said the community had no health facility hence people go as far as Billiri town to access health care services .
While appreciating the state government for the intervention, the village head called for construction of access road saying plying the area during rainy season has not been easy.
The chairman of the kalindi community Alhaji Adamu Buba, and secretary of the Community Project Management Committee Usman Ayala said many people especially pregnant women have died because of the non availability of a health centre in the area.
They said some women had miscarriages while transiting to the hospital and old men and women also find it difficult to go to Billiri town to access health services hence, the newly constructed health facility will reduce infant and maternal mortality rate.
Hajiya Faddi Adamu who was full of joy for a health facility in the area called for the provision of electricity and access road in the area and called on women especially pregnant to attend antinatal care.
Meanwhile, a team from South Hill Church of Christ America visited the commissioned health centre and offered free medical services to people in the community.
The Medical outreach team was led by Dr Bobby Lawson, with team of medical experts accompanied by a former legislator Ibrahim Rambi Ayaba, also provided palliatives to the people .
