Preparatory to the 24th Convocation and Re-launch of Endowment Fund of University of Maiduguri, the Vice Chancellor Professor Aliyu Shugaba, has sent a special delegation to deliver Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya’s Invitation letter.
The delegation led by Professor Micheal Noku comprising of Professor Hauwa Biu, and Abdullahi Ali said the formal presentation of the invitation is in accordance with the University tradition to seek the attendance of key stakeholders during such events.
He also appreciated the Gombe State Government for the warm reception according to them.
Receiving the delegation on behalf of Governor Yahaya, the Secretary to Government of the State, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, who was a former Vice Chancellor of the University of Maiduguri assured that Gombe State Government will be fully represented.
Njodi said Governor Yahaya and his colleagues in the North-East Governors’ Forum being chaired by Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum are fully aware of the convocation programme hence, the postponement of their meeting earlier scheduled for Yola, Adamawa State Capital on the same date.
He said this in demonstration of goodwill and support to the premier University in North-East, Nigeria.
The brief but significant presentation was witnessed by the Permanent Secretary General Duties office of the SSG, Director-General Research and Documentation Government House, Dr Muazu Shehu and Director General-Duties Balarabe Musa.
