In a bid to bolster morale and show support, Secretary to Government of Gombe State, Professor Abubakar Ibrahim Njodi, paid a visit to Gombe United’s training ground at Pantami Stadium on Wednesday.
Periscope Nigeria reports that the team is gearing up for its week ten Nigerian Premier Football League clash against Kwara United FC in Ilorin.

Njodi expressed his satisfaction with the team’s progress and delivered a reassuring message on behalf of the Governor of Gombe State, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, adding that “I am happy that we have made progress in the little time that we have all been here despite some challenges, I want to assure you of the governor’s support. He is the number one fan of the club, and this administration will do everything to continue supporting the club.”

To further motivate the players, the SGS handed over one million naira to the team and assured them of continuous government support.
In his response, team captain Itodo Akor, conveyed gratitude on behalf of the players “We want to thank the Gombe State Government and the entire people of Gombe state for their support. We want to assure you that we’ll continue to give our best for the team. And we want to thank the SSG for this special visit. We’re motivated and ready to give everything for the team.”
Gombe United FC currently holds the 13th position on the NPFL log with 12 points after nine games. Their upcoming challenge will be a trip to Ilorin for week ten clash against Kwara United on Sunday November 26, 2023.
