The Chief Imam of Wajari Izala Jumaat Mosque, along Dadin Kowa Road in Yamaltu Deba Local Government Area, Ustaz Aliyu Wajari, has advised the affluent members of the Muslim Ummah to fulfill their obligation of giving out Zakat promptly.
During the sermon, Wajari emphasised that Zakat is one of the five pillars of Islam, serving as a purification of wealth. He warned that any Muslim failing to give Zakat is inviting the wrath of Allah on their wealth, and the afterlife will not be comfortable for them. He urged Muslims not to relent in fulfilling this duty.
Wajari highlighted that Zakat is compulsory, referencing the directive of “Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to Mu’az Bin Jabal to collect Zakat from a community and distribute it among the poor to reduce animosity between the rich and the poor,” he said.
He further urged farmers to make a conscientious effort to give Zakat from their farm produce, emphasising that this act would invite blessings from Allah, making their harvests beneficial to them and their families.
The scholar concluded by praying for Allah’s reward upon the leaders of the organisation, adding “from the national level down to the ward level, for their consistent efforts in educating society.”
He expressed appreciation for the support of members and encouraged them to maintain the spirit.
