In a monumental collaborative effort, the Gombe State Ministry of Health, in tandem with the Gombe State Primary Health Care Development Agency, has initiated a comprehensive health campaign.

This landmark event, held at Kofar Dagacin Tumfure in Akko Local Government Area, marks the commencement for an integrated campaign addressing outbreak response and focusing on Maternal Newborn and Child Health.

The collaborative endeavour includes a partnership with the National Primary Health Care Development Agency and esteemed partner agencies such as WHO, TAIMAKA, NEW INCENTIVE, Chigari Foundation, and Professor Idris Mohammed Foundation, among others.

Speaking, Dr Abdulrahman Shu’aibu, Executive Secretary, Gombe State Primary Health Care Development Agency took the stage to underscore the critical importance of the campaign, particularly addressing polio vaccines and diseases affecting mothers and newborns. He outlined the strategic vision of the agency to combat health challenges and promote immunization efforts.
Engineer Saleh Muhammad Umar Mai kaltungo emphasised the collaborative role traditional leadership plays in promoting health awareness within communities.
He stressed the significance of this campaign in ensuring the well-being of mothers and children.

Dr Habu Dahiru, Commissioner of Health, Gombe State, who represented the Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Yahaya conveyed a strong message of support for the campaign.
He highlighted the government’s commitment to healthcare, particularly in the prevention of diseases impacting maternal and child health.
Participants, representing diverse communities, actively engaged in discussions highlighting the importance of vaccines. The event aimed to raise awareness and garner community support for the comprehensive health campaign.
