Muhammad Al-Amin Bako, in an interview with inclusive reporters’ Yahaya Yusuf Kumo, speaks about his emergence as
President-Elect of Gombe State Students Association (GOSSA National Secretariat), his passion to improve students’ welfare and other sundry issues.
You recently emerged as president-elect of Gombe State Students Association, GOSSA National Secretariat at a convention. How did you achieve this?
Alhamdulillah , the Victory didn’t come to me as a surprise , because we have gone through a lot as we visited a lot of institutions nationwide for campaign and we assured them that if elected we will protect the best interest of the students which is our main priority. Secondly am the outgoing Assistant secretary of GOSSA National Body we made a lot achievement by appealing to The State Government to pay all the outstanding scholarship to the students. We distributed food palliatives to students, securing SA’s on students from His Excellency Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa yahaya which is first of it’s kind and in sha Allah we will try our very best to protect the best interest of the Students by appealing to State Government on scholarship increments and Enrollment of new Students on scholarship platform.
During the election, who was the chairman of the electoral committee that declared your victory?
The chairman of the Electoral Committee is Abdulrazak Haruna Isah.
Who was your major contender for the position of National Presidency and how many votes did each of you score?
Those that contested for National President, Aliyu Yusuf jalingo, and Muhammad Al-amin Bako .
Muhammad Al-amin Bako got 114 votes while Aliyu Yusuf jalingo got 46 voted.
Which Institution are you currently undergoing your study ?
Am currently undergoing my studies at Gombe State University, Faculty of Education, Physics Education to be precise.
How do you feel about your victory? who do you dedicate your victory to?
I feel very much happy and excited because for over 10years Gombe State University never produced GOSSA National President, but Alhamdulillah we are now able to get National President from Gombe State University, which is the only institution with the highest number of GOSSITES. And also, I hereby humbly dedicate this victory to my late Father Alhaji Ibrahim Bako (Dan masanin Nafada).
Are you the first to emerge victory as GOSSA National President of your Institution, Gombe State University?
No, am not the first person. Abdulmalik sulaiman (Good boy) was once GOSSA National President 2009/2010 he’s also from Gombe state University.
