Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State, has officially issued a new order titled the “Interstate Road Tax Sticker (SIRTS) and Single Haulage Fee (SHF) Order 1.”
According to the government, the move which was effective from 22, December 2023, is an exercise of powers vested pn the Governor by Section 5(2) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended).
Governor Radda’s Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula said in a statement in Katsina on Sunday that the order might be referred to as the SIRTS and SHF Order 1; adding that the order was deemed effective from the 22, December,2023.
The statement partly added, “New rates have been established for Interstate Haulage within the State, emphasizing the following adjustments:
Vendor: Increased to N7,500 (New Rate) from N3,500 (Old Rate);
Integrator: Increased to N4,000 (New Rate) from N1,000 (Old Rate);
Enforcement: Increased to N1,500 (New Rate) from N1,000 (Old Rate)”
“Consultant: Implemented at N1,500 (New Rate) from N0.00 (Old Rate); Vendor Loading/Offload: Adjusted to N525 (New Rate) from N525 (Old Rate); Pick-Up Van: Introduced at N4,000 (New Rate) from N0.00 (Old Rate);Pick-Up Non-Heavy: Introduced at N5,500 (New Rate) from N0.00 (Old Rate)
Heavy Duty 6/8 tyres: Set at N8,000 (New Rate) from N0.00 (Old Rate); Luxury Buses: Increased to N10,000 (New Rate) from N5,500 (Old Rate).”
It also explained ” 12/14 tyres and Equivalent: Increased to N19,000 (New Rate) from N11,000 (Old Rate); 18 tyres and above: Increased to N25,000 (New Rate) from N16,000 (Old Rate).”*
The statement clarified that Governor Radda underscored the significance of these adjustments, aiming to sustain effective interstate haulage operations within Katsina State.
” These measures are aligned with the state’s commitment to fostering efficient transportation while ensuring a fair and sustainable economic environment ,” it declared.
