The Secretary Government of Gombe State and erstwhile Vice Chancellor of the University of Maiduguri, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, has been nominated for an award at the forthcoming University of Maiduguri National Alumni Association Dinner, Award Night and fundraising scheduled for the 14th of December, 2023.
The SGS’ nomination was contained in a letter of nomination for Award jointly signed by Chief Joe- Kyari Gadzama SAN and Barr. Afiniki F. Hananiya, for the Unimaid Alumni dispatched to Njodi’s office, dated 8th November, 2023.
This partly reads, “In recognition of your outstanding contribution to the association and achievements in society over the years, you have demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities in your service to humanity and nation at large, Your disposition have not only yielded remarkable results but also inspired those who look up to you as a role model because your impact extends beyond just professional endeavours,”
The Gombe SGS will be honoured with a LIFETIME ACHIEVER AWARD at the event where President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to be Special Guest of Honour while Shehu of Borno, Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai Al Amin Elkanemi will be the Royal father of the Day.
Our correspondent reports that Njodi an alumni of the University started his career as Graduate Assistant and rose to the rank of Professor and Vice Chancellor with landmark achievements.
