The former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen TY Buratai (retd.), has urged Nigerians to keep hope alive and to above all remain resilient.

Gora, Nasarawa State made this plea in a message obtained by PERISCOPE NIGERIA on the commemoration of new year.
He lauded Nigerians for supporting President Bola Tinubu’s administration adding, “I want to commend Nigerians for their patience, resilience, belief in the democratic process, support for the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and keeping hope alive at all costs.”
While accepting that the economical situation had dire consequences, the former Army chief said, “I recognise the fact that the economy is biting hard, and this year has been rough and bumpy, but be rest assured, we will soon experience respite and stability. I implore all Nigerians to continue to be resilient and never give up on their country. Let us shun all acts of violence and channel our grievances through legitimate means.”
He condemned the recent destruction of installation by criminals, urging security agencies to deal with the perpetrators.
“I want to condemn the criminal acts of vandals who recently destroyed electrical installations along Maiduguri- Damaturu Road. Nigerians must give maximum support to the military and other security agencies to fish out the perpetrators and bring them to justice. We must not allow or support any individual or group of persons in the name of whatever ideology to destroy public and social amenities that are very essential to our survival,” the statement partly read.
Buratai added, “I wish every Nigerian a peaceful and prosperous 2024.”
