A man identified as Alhaji Murtala Ibrahim, is said to have returned about three million naira which he found, to the owner.
It all began on Saturday when Murtala was travelling with his family to Jalingo, the state capital of Taraba State, from Bali Local Government Area.

On his way, at exactly Nahuta village, he encountered an accident scene which prompted him to disembark his family and other passengers in his car and quickly carried all the accident victims to the hospital.
While conveying the victims, he discovered a bag containing large sum of money which he handed over to the police at Maihula station for safekeeping.
The police, however, asked that he keeps the money till further investigation is carried out.
Subsequently, the money was discovered to belong to one of the accident victims and Murtala gladly returned it. It is imperative to note that despite the economic hardship and challenges in the country, Murtala did not allow greed or lust for money to envelope him.
He said, “I was controlled by the fear of God not to take what does not belong to me, just as I would not want anyone to take what belongs to me.”
The Kuru Jibu of Jibu Chiefdom (Alhaji Abubakar Mahmoud) at his palace, where the handing over took place, applauded him for his kindness and for being a good ambassador of Jibu Chiefdom where he belongs.
This singular act is indeed worthy of emulation because even when the owner offered him some money, Murtala respectfully turned it down.
